Janet Daley has written an interesting and important article titled: “Will someone please tell us the truth?” which calls for stop to the politicaly-motivated lies we are facing from all sides. The comments are very interesting and show a strong sharing of extreme frustration over the lack of clear and evident truth. The truth will not be known until the UK is unable to borrow in international markets and is forced to produce accurate financial statements and participate in a full or near-full investigative disclosure process that requires an “outing” of all the skeletons, economic then social and political.
It will take at least 6-12 months to come up with a good first cut, and that’s if the numbers people along with the solicitors and beaurocrats are forced under threat of imprisonment to come forward with the facts and their complete context and story. The news will be horrendous, and the government will seek to either cover up the truth or downplay it as unconfirmed and irrelevant.
Brown has every upside to being at the helm as he cooperates in “saving the UK from failure”, which will simply mean continuation the status quo, deferring of key cut-backs and more of his own self-serving “sculpting of the UK” into his own elitist image and Socialist freedom-depriving system.
If Cameron is in power he will have many incentives to “out” the truth but will face some of the same morale issues of “how much bad news can the people bear”. His success will require up-front clear definition by a “goals set” that allow him to carry out the economic and social “surgery”…. measures at almost any cost and with the legal abilty to enforce threats against the people who have brought the UK to this brink of disaster.

In the background there is one person who may still have the stature of office and adequate respect from the people to call for the process of “war”: the Queen supported by a legion of loyal, tough, true experts who will take no prisoners in the carrying out their duty of uncovering the truth, creating a plan and enforcing it. The City still has a core of many decent and honourable people some of whom may be in retirement as do the ranks of the solicitors/barristers, the accountants and the Foreign Office, MI5 and Scotland Yard.
Let us remember whom we respect and are proud of as they may be in combination the only people with the integrity and the force of character to lead the country out of this mess.
